We strive to make life better for homeless people living with AIDS who have special service needs.



Friends House

Friends House is a community organization formed with the intention of providing care, support and housing services for people living with HIV/AIDS and who were formerly homeless. We are based in New York City.

Facts at a Glance

  • As of December 31, 2011; 113,319 people have been diagnosed and reported in NYC living with HIV/AIDS. This represents an increase of 28.4% from 2001.
  • NYC remains the HIV epicenter in the United States.
  • NYC has more newly diagnosed AIDS cases than the cities of Washington DC, Los Angeles and Atlanta combined.
  • Over 1,700 homeless people with AIDS in NYC are waiting tonight and every night for permanent housing like Friends House.
